For more than 75 years, Louis J. Solomon has been an important source of traditional fine reproduction furniture to the trade. We specialize in producing 18th and 19th century French and English antique reproduction furniture which has been carefully rescaled and restyled to appeal to the modern lifestyle. We are an important source to interior designers, high-end furniture stores, and designer showrooms throughout the United States.
Established in New York City in 1930 by Louis J. Solomon, our company began selling unfinished frames. Over the years our furniture line has expanded to include a wide variety chairs, beds, chests, tables, desks, benches, and mirrors which are available either finished or unfinished.
Recognized by the design trade for our outstanding finishes, we pay careful attention to the fine details in the finishing process which bring out the natural beauty in our hand-made furniture. Our finishes are all mixed and applied by hand which gives each piece of furniture that we produce its own unique character and quality. We offer a wide variety of finishes to choose from as well as custom finishing and hand painted decoration.
Our upholstery still utilizes traditional upholstery methods which have endured for centuries. Hand-tied coil springs, quality materials, and meticulous attention to detail are what set our upholstery apart.
We take pride in employing highly skilled furniture craftsmen who work together as a team to produce superior furniture. We cut no corners when creating our furniture. Each piece we produce is unique and is infused with an evocative antique presence as well as the client’s own personal taste.
